Strengthening convenience stores in the North region is the topic of a meeting in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – Of the approximately 43 thousand gas stations in Brazil, only 15% have convenience stores. Small number if purchased with Argentina, which has an average of 50%. Thinking about the strengthening and growth of this sector, also known as neighborhood retail, an event in Manaus, this Thursday (23) and Friday (24), will bring together several professionals in the segment, with lectures and product and service stands.

The XVIII Meeting of Fuel Resellers and Convenience Stores in the North of Brazil will be held at the Diamond Convention Center, located in the Tarumã neighborhood, West Zone of the capital of Amazonas, and aimed at fuel resellers who own convenience stores, with the expectation of receiving 500 people per day. The event aims to address economic perspectives in the market.

For the vice-president of the Amazonas Fuel Union (Sindicombustíveis-AM), this is a great opportunity to debate strategies that strengthen this sector in the region, with potential for expansion in Manaus, as well as in all states in the North .

“Convenience stores have a great appeal and add a lot to the station, as we have many customers who go to fill up and take the opportunity to buy a drink, a chocolate, a snack, among many products on offer. In other words, it is an attraction that needs to be explored and advance in our country”,

explained Gilberto.

The meeting will also be attended by the president of the National Federation of Fuel and Lubricant Commerce (Fecombustíveis), James Thorp Neto, resellers and distributors. Furthermore, regulatory bodies such as the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP), Consumer Protection Institute (Procon-AM), State Finance Secretariat (Sefaz), National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro ), among others, who will present a panel on the regulation and inspection of the sector.

“With everyone we spoke to, expectations are very good. The fuel sector has a huge impact on Brazil’s economy and Amazonas is no different. We have at least 650 between posts and jetties, those on the rivers; with the generation of up to 14 thousand direct jobs. Not to mention that the space for growth is very large, so this meeting only adds to it”,

concluded.

Another subject that should occupy the attention of event participants is the future of energy sources in Brazil, with the market currently trending towards ethanol.
