Political Week

The highlights of the political week will be the vote on the so-called temporal milestone in the STF and the probability that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will choose new ministers.

The Federal Supreme Court (STF) set for Wednesday (30), the resumption of the trial of the time frame for the demarcation of indigenous lands.

It is worth remembering that, in June of this year, voting was suspended at the STF after Mendonça’s request for a review. The score is 2 votes to 1 against the timeframe. Edson Fachin and Alexandre de Moraes were against it, and Nunes Marques was in favor.

Lula

Back in Brasília, after visiting Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe, Lula is expected to announce new ministers.

“Certainly, President Lula will carry out, on his return, a decision he has already taken to accept the request of two federal benches and appoint parliamentarians to compose the ministry. An action to reinforce our team for the second semester”,

said Alexandre Padilha, Minister of Institutional Relations.

The most quoted names are federal deputies André Fufuca (PP-MA) and Sílvio Costa Filho (Republicanos-PE). Changes may appear in the Social Development and Ports and Airports folders.

Senate

The Senate, in turn, must put the tie-breaking vote on the agenda in the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (Carf).

Chamber

The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), confirmed the vote, next Tuesday, 29, on the project that extends the payroll exemption for some sectors of the economy (PL 334/23).
