The assessment is that the suspension of the platform in Brazil will harm the right more than the left

The Federal Supreme Court (STF) is evaluating an institutional response if billionaire Elon Musk carries out the threat and fails to comply with judicial restrictions on profiles on the social network.

The bet by members of the Court, however, is that this is a bluff, as Musk has already retreated from threats made previously.

The owner of the X network, formerly Twitter, stated that he can reactivate accounts that were suspended on the social network, which includes Bolsonar politicians and businessmen.

For now, say members of the Supreme Court, the order is not to respond to provocations and to make a decision only if Musk fails to comply with court orders.

One of the possibilities suggested is even taking the social network offline. Musk himself stated that he may close the Brazilian branch of the X platform.

A member of the Supreme Court considered that the withdrawal of Brazil’s social network should harm the right more than the left, since conservative parliamentarians tend to generate more mobilization and engagement than progressive ones on the social network.

The billionaire mentioned Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the STF, again this Sunday (07).

In a post on the social network, Musk says that Moraes “blatantly and repeatedly betrayed the Constitution and the people of Brazil”.

He also asks that Moraes “resign or be impeached”.
