The Federal Supreme Court (STF) began to analyze, this Wednesday (18), a request for investigation and preventive detention against Leonardo Rodrigues de Jesus, or Léo Índio, nephew of former president Jair Bolsonaro. Minister Dias Toffoli will be the rapporteur of the action that was presented by the Collective of Popular Law.

The group wants Léo Índio’s participation in the acts of vandalism on January 8, which led to the depredation of federal public bodies in Brasília, to be investigated. In the request to the STF, the group of lawyers asks for the preventive arrest and blocking of social networks of Jair Bolsonaro’s nephew, in addition to the breach of bank, tax and telephone secrecy to investigate his participation in the acts.

The criminalist Paulo Henrique Lima, the main person responsible for the action, suggests that there are indications of Léo Índio’s role in mobilizing the demonstrators. On social networks, there are videos and photos showing Índio’s participation in the act.
