This month, Governor Wilson Lima sanctioned Law 6,684/2024, which establishes the State Day of Commitment to Children, Adolescents and Education in the state of Amazonas, authored by state deputy João Luiz (Republicans).

“It is not only a day that we must be committed to children, adolescents and education, but we must raise awareness among Amazonian society about the importance of this date in promoting well-being, protection and the full development of education in childhood and youth” , said deputy João Luiz, who is also the president of the Commission for International Relations, Promotion of Sport and Defense of the Rights of Children and Adolescents of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam).

The Law highlights that the date will be celebrated annually, on the second Sunday of November.

The parliamentarian highlights that the state Executive Branch will be able, in partnership with the competent bodies and organized civil society, to carry out educational, cultural and social actions and activities aimed at raising awareness among the population about the importance of education in the lives of children and adolescents, as well as as well as the need to guarantee their fundamental rights.
