The player’s defense has already changed the version of the case a few times
Lawyers for former full-back Daniel Alves – accused of rape in a Barcelona nightclub in December 2022 – are trying to reach an agreement with the victim, according to journalist Mayka Navarro, from Spanish broadcaster Telecinco. On Monday (6), the communicator stated that “no one wants this trial to be carried out”why “it won’t be easy for anyone”, not even for the victim.
Furthermore, the journalist stated that the player must reach an agreement with the victim so that they do not need to go to trial.
A woman, whose identity was not revealed, accused Daniel Alves of rape at the end of 2022. He allegedly sexually assaulted her in the bathroom of the Sutton nightclub, in Barcelona. Since January 20th, the former Brazilian national team athlete has been imprisoned in Spain.
In a new statement, the victim said that Daniel Alves forced her to perform oral sex on him, grabbed her by the neck and slapped her. Furthermore, he allegedly pulled down her dress and forced her to have sex with him.
The player continues to deny the accusations and claims that the relationship was consensual. Regarding the new testimony, Daniel Alves’ defense did not speak publicly.
In October, the Spanish newspaper “Marca” had already reported that Dani Alves could reach an agreement with the courts by taking on the charges. The Spanish press highlighted that the player and the defense were considering this position.
