Brazilian Vinícius Júnior was elected, by the Spanish Footballers’ Association (AFE), the best player of the 2022/23 season in Spain. The Real Madrid striker received the award this Monday (6). For the Spanish club, he played 55 games and scored 23 goals, winning the Copa del Rey and the Club World Cup.
“Many thanks to AFE and all my teammates who voted me the best player of the season in Spain. I’m very happy and I hope it can continue like this for many years”, said the player.
Last week, the athlete renewed his contract with Real Madrid until 2027. Vini was voted the sixth best player in the world by France Football, in the Ballon d’Or Award and was also winner of the “Socrates Award” – honoring his commitment to social causes outside from Camp.
In the current season, there are 11 games with three goals scored. Real Madrid is second in the Spanish League with 29 points – two behind leader Girona.
The team returns to the field this Wednesday (8), against Braga, in the Champions League. The Spanish lead Group C with nine points from three games. Vini should be a starter in the match.
