The governor of Amapá, Clécio Luís, commented on the program ‘LuizMeloInterview’ (Diário FM 90.9) this Wednesday, 27th, the result of the decision of the Aneel occurred the previous day, in Brasília, regarding a request from CEA Equatorial readjustment of the state’s energy tariff. At the time, a 0% adjustment was defined, until the provisional measure promised by President Lula is issued.

Clécio saw the decision as a victory for the people of Amapá and recalled Lula’s negative words regarding the readjustment: “We spent Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday working to ensure that this adjustment is not voted on until the provisional measure that Lula assured us would come out definitively comes out. In Macapá he guaranteed that we would not have such an absurd readjustment”recalled the governor.

“We say that Amapá cannot pay. This weekend Minister Waldez and Senator Davi Alcolumbre worked tirelessly; I contacted Randolfe, who also helped”, Clécio pointed out. The governor reinforced that the current tariff will be maintained until the end of the year, which is within the deadline, and he hopes that Lula’s provisional measure will come out in less than a month, which will remedy the readjustment that should have occurred at the end of last year. .

“We don’t want to create embarrassment with the National System. A large part of the tariff we pay is from bills that do not belong to Amapá, such as when the Cantareira System, which supplies the Southeast, dries up”, illustrated Clécio.

The governor regretted that Amapá “you pay more for having fewer inhabitants” and highlighted the investment in infrastructure to guarantee electricity supply in the state. “This adjustment would put us with the most expensive energy in Brazil. We will do everything and so far we are winning; the readjustment is unfair and inconceivable”declared the governor.

Tariff model

According to experts, the current tariff model is not suitable for a continental country like Brazil, as it favors large centers. “A building where thousands of people live has a substation in front, with wiring and cable connection directly to the network. In Serra do Navio, the same energy has to travel almost three hundred kilometers to reach the home of a resident of an agricultural colony; our cost is higher, and it is absorbed by us”, said Clécio.

“It’s a question of the model, it wasn’t the Amapá concession”said governor Clécio Luís about opponents who see the situation as an opportunity for political attacks. “That’s what those who want to fight for say. We have proven that we know what we want, it is a fight that we will not lose, we are managing to postpone this increase. It is not an empty advance, the President of the Republic has committed; the Minister of Minas Energia committed himself”he concluded.
