Simples Nacional: with impasse, France asks for more deadline – 01/25/2024 – Panel SA

This Friday (26th) the deadline for the Deliberative Council of Simples Nacional to decide whether to carry out Minister Márcio França’s (Entrepreneurship) request to extend until May the deadline for submitting declarations from small companies that currently benefit from the benefit.

The minister’s negotiations with the economic team are still stuck. França wants the Treasury to correct the companies’ revenue table, going from the current R$4.8 million per year to R$8.4 million. It also calls for the creation of Desenrola Brasil, a debt renegotiation program with discounts.

According to the rules, the Simples council needs at least five days to hold a deliberative meeting. France asked that the session take place, at the latest, until January 31, the deadline for companies to make their declarations.

If there is no deliberation by then, around 7 million micro-entrepreneurs will lose their benefits because, together, they owe around R$15 million to the Federal Revenue Service.

In addition to this group, it is estimated that 30% of small and medium-sized companies exceeded the R$4.8 million revenue range, a value that was not adjusted for inflation, as in the Personal Income Tax table. Without the benefit, layoffs and even closures are expected.
