After the release of a video of a woman performing a sexual dance at an official federal government event, the Ministry of Health announced the creation of a “curatorship for organizing official events”. In a statement, the ministry classified the episode as “regrettable” and said it was an isolated case. The incident occurred during the 1st Health Promotion Mobilization Meeting in Brazil (Em Prosa Brasil), organized by the Ministry of Health.
According to the note released by the Ministry of Health, the curatorship will be linked to the office of Minister Nísia Trindade. She will be responsible for evaluating the events proposed by all areas of the department. “The evaluation will consider the adequacy of the proposals to the institutional mission of the Ministry of Health”, says the Ministry’s note.
Late on Friday night (6), the chief minister of the Secretariat of Social Communication, Paulo Pimenta, classified the episode as regrettable and said that no one in the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) defends or justifies the fact. “Minister Nísia Trindade and her team more than anyone have stated that this is an isolated episode, which is at odds with the work and guidance of our government”, defended Pimenta.
Pimenta also assured that responsibilities will be determined and reinforced that measures have already been announced so that similar episodes do not happen again. “We are committed to ethics and responsibility in public management and we will not connive with conduct and attitudes that are not absolutely in line with these principles”, stated Lula’s minister in Publication on X (formerly Twitter).
