Macapá City Hall receives government delegation from French Guiana to export food from local producers – News of Brazil

This Friday (6), producers from Macapá received a technical visit from representatives of the Regional/International Cooperation and Integration of French Guiana, in a partnership with the city hall, for the export of food from Macapá to the neighboring country. The initiative strengthens family farming and encourages producers to expand their production and marketing activities.
Properties located at KM-9 and Ramal do Curralinho received the technical team from the Municipal Department of Agriculture (Semag) together with the delegation from the Government of French Guiana.
The Municipal Secretary of Agriculture, Eduardo Fleury, highlights that the initiative opens doors for local producers to expand their businesses, in addition to contributing to economic growth and income generation in the municipality.
“Through this partnership we can increasingly strengthen family farming and large-scale production. Macapá has potential for food production, and we are working to increasingly stimulate the local production chain”.
Tiarrah Steenwinkel, Vice President of Regional/International Cooperation and Integration, emphasizes that this partnership strengthens both Guyana’s and Macapá’s primary sectors.
“We were very impressed with the great potential that Macapá has both for raising animals and for the production of fruits and vegetables. We are looking for ways to facilitate this collaboration between Guyana and Macapá, with the aim of establishing a long-term and solid partnership”, highlighted.
