One of the main entities of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a reference in São Paulo, the CBJJE is preparing to start its 2023 season. from the Baby Barioni complex will receive the São Paulo Cup and the No-Gi World Cup from the Brazilian Sports Jiu-Jitsu Confederation. Registration, it is worth mentioning, occurs through the website SouCompetidor.com.br.
Traditionally, the CBJJE holds its events at Ginásio do Ibirapuera, also in São Paulo, but for this beginning of the year it decided to move to the Baby Barioni as a way of honoring the place that will be reopened after eight years. Confederation President Moises Muradi spoke about it:
“Baby Barioni is a traditional sport venue in São Paulo, it has already hosted Boxing and Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, among other sports, and the CBJJE itself started holding its championships here. In addition, we were the last Jiu-Jitsu organization to hold an event in the complex before the renovation. It took eight years of works and now it will be reopened. It is beautiful, very complete, lit and with a first class structure”, said Moises, who added:
“In addition to the re-inauguration of Baby Barioni, the change of venue is also important so that we can do both events (Taça São Paulo and Mundial No-Gi) at the same time during the weekend. So, whoever fights on Saturday with a kimono will fight on Sunday without a kimono, for example, and vice versa, so that everyone can fight in peace”.
Brand new, the Baby Barioni gym is located next to the Latin America Memorial and 750m from the Barra Funda subway station. The complete address is Rua Dona Germaine Burchard, number 451, Água Branca-SP.
After the São Paulo Cup and the No-Gi Worlds, the CBJJE confirmed the return to Ginásio do Ibirapuera, which on March 19th will host the Latin American Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
