According to the vice-president of the factory in Manaus, approximately 1,500 employees will receive early collective vacations.

The board of directors of Samsung Eletrônica da Amazônia Ltda., was at Suframa this Wednesday (18) for a meeting with the superintendent of the Authority, Bosco Saraiva, with the aim of informing the employees about the anticipation of the end-of-year collective holidays. who work in production, specifically in the TV, audio and air conditioning lines.

The anticipation of collective holidays, which is scheduled for the period from October 30th to November 14th, will occur due to the record low water in the rivers, which prevents the arrival of essential inputs for the factory’s production.

Samsung was the first company to officially inform that it will bring forward collective vacations for some of its employees.

According to the vice-president of the factory in Manaus, Woo Yong Lee, approximately 1,500 employees will receive early collective vacations.

“Due to the lack of inputs, there will be no production activity on the aforementioned lines. Therefore, it is expected that at the end of the year, when the river level is higher, these lines will once again be supplied with inputs, and employees will be able to resume production activities”, explained Lee.

The deputy superintendent of Development and Technological Innovation at Suframa, Waldenir Vieira, and the following representatives from Samsung also participated in the meeting: Dae Sung Juhn (director of Controlling), Fernando Campos Arruda (director of RD&I/SRBR), Fabiano Mariscau (manager senior in the Tax Area), Marcos Lima de Souza (PD&I and Relationship manager/SRBR),
and Francini Louizi da Silva (translator).

Until the day before the meeting with Samsung, Suframa had not received any information on the subject of collective vacations, due to the lack of inputs, as a result of the low rivers.

The Authority worked with official information passed on by the Center for Industry of the State of Amazonas (Cieam), that there was no stoppage of production in the factory lines due to the problem.
