Sada Cruzeiro removes Wallace after publication in which athlete suggests shooting President Lula

Sada Cruzeiro announced this Tuesday afternoon the indefinite removal of the opposite Wallace. The decision comes after the negative repercussion of the publication made by the volleyball player in which he suggests that someone shoot President Lula.

The measure was communicated through an official note signed by the board of the sports association. According to the club, the decision involved the participation of its main sponsor, Grupo Sada.

“The Board of Associação Esportiva e Social SADA repudiates any act that could mean incitement to violence and clarifies that it DOES NOT COMPACT IN ANY WAY with the recent publications of the athlete Wallace de Souza on his social networks. Within what is up to the master sponsor of Sada Cruzeiro , the athlete’s IMMEDIATE REMOVAL was defined for an INDETERMINED TIME, and full retraction and public apology were required. Earlier, volleyball player Wallace posted a video with an apology. The Cruzeiro athlete referred to the post as an error and said he was not in favor of violence.

“I’m here to talk about yesterday’s stories along with the poll. It ended up generating a very bad social repercussion. Anyone who knows me knows that I would never incite violence against anyone, especially against our president. I’m here to apologize, it was a unfortunate post, I made a mistake. When you make a mistake, there’s no way around it, you have to accept your mistake and apologize. I never had the intention of inciting violence or hatred, it’s not like me. That’s not what sport taught me and it’s not That’s what I want to pass on to anyone. A hug “, said the former player of the Brazilian national team.

Wallace’s post, made last Monday, generated a series of repercussions. The chief minister of the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom), Paulo Pimenta, said this Tuesday that the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) was called to take action against the player.

“I have already activated the AGU and we are going to take all the necessary measures. We will not tolerate threats made by extremists and coup plotters!”, wrote the minister.

Sports Minister Ana Moser also spoke. In her account on a social network, the former volleyball player stressed that the athlete must respond as a citizen regardless of his status as a sportsman.

“Before an athlete, the player Wallace is a Brazilian citizen and must respond to our laws and institutions”, wrote the minister.

Sada Cruzeiro himself had already published a note in which he regretted the athlete’s post and apologized to the public. The club said it will reinforce with its athletes and other employees the importance of being responsible in the use of social networks.
