Roberto Cidade announces R$377 million for the development of the AM primary sector

Manaus (AM) – State deputy Roberto Cidade (União Brasil) presented, this Tuesday (9), the State Government’s budget planning for the State Secretariat for Rural Production (Sepror) system and its linked units for 2024, which provides resources an average of R$377.2 million. On his second day as acting governor, he highlighted investments by the Wilson Lima administration in the primary sector of Amazonas.

The presentation was made at the headquarters of Sepror, in the Japiim neighborhood, South Zone of Manaus, by the managers of the system that includes – in addition to the Secretariat of Rural Production itself – the Institute for Sustainable Agricultural and Forestry Development of Amazonas (Idam), the Development Agency Sustainable Amazonas (ADS) and the Amazonas Agricultural and Forestry Defense Agency (Adaf).

The main activities include public policy actions to promote the productive sector, Rural Technical Assistance, Animal and Plant Health Defense, in addition to agribusinesses of family farmers. According to Roberto Cidade, the investments will reinforce the sustainable development of the primary sector in Amazonas.

“The Sepror System has to work together, this is a determination by Governor Wilson Lima so that in the year 2024 they can further optimize the work so that the service reaches the cutting edge, providing more structure for the rural producer”,

highlighted the acting governor.

“I am now acting governor at the moment, but from the 13th, Governor Wilson Lima returns and we will return as president of the Assembly (Legislative of Amazonas) and we will provide support mainly in sending more parliamentary amendments for this very important sector. important”, added Cidade.

The planning, which is based on the gross budget of each department, was presented by the Secretary of State for Rural Production, Daniel Borges, managers and technicians from the linked units. State deputies Delegado Péricles and Mário César Filho were also present; in addition to mayors Gamaliel Andrade (Tapauá) and Zé Roberto (Canutama).

Sepror

Within the scope of the activities carried out by Sepror aimed at promoting and supporting agricultural, forestry, fishing and fauna production, the total investment will be R$ 130.8 million. Among the main goals are encouraging family farming, agroecology and organic production, extractivism, forestry management, pro-mechanization and pro-limestone, agricultural exhibitions, fishing and aquaculture.

“Pro-mechanization, which is a program where the State Government contributes 85% and the producer only contributes 15%. So, let’s say that for him to prepare an area of ​​one hectare that costs around R$ 10 thousand, the State Government contributes R$ 8.5 thousand and the producer pays only R$ 1.5 thousand. This is one of the programs that we will be reinforcing with this year’s budget. Furthermore, to prepare the area, the Pro-limestone, which we will also have greater investment this year, the producer contributes 50% and the State contributes 50%”, explained Secretary Daniel Borges.

ADS

In 2024, ADS will have R$70.8 million and plans to execute programs to promote sustainable development in the region, such as the Agribusiness Counter, the Family Assistance Program (PAF), Regional Product Fairs, Onerous Donation and Subsidies Economics of Pirarucu, Borracha, Piaçava, in addition to Jute and Malva.

In addition, there will also be the Regionalization Programs for School Furniture (Promove) and School Meals (Preme), with an expected contribution of more than R$43 million by the State Department of Education and School Sports.

Also according to ADS, in February Governor Wilson Lima is expected to announce a new fair in the capital. Currently, there are 12 editions in Manaus and another 44 in 36 municipalities in the interior of Amazonas, totaling 56 editions.

Idam

Technical assistance and rural extension body (Ater), Idam will have R$ 112.8 million and will seek to promote the regularization of rural producers through the issuance of 26 thousand Primary Producer Cards (CPP), 15 thousand National Family Farming Registries (CAF) and almost 5,500 Rural Environmental Registries. The plan for 2024 also plans to provide assistance to more than 37 thousand rural producers. With regard to rural extension, the institute plans to carry out more than 61 thousand Ater visits, in addition to training rural producers, artisanal fishermen, family farmers and Sepror System employees.

In relation to the development of credit projects, Idam’s initial goal is to respond to more than 5,300 requests, which will be forwarded to the Amazonas State Development Agency (Afeam), Banco do Brasil and Banco da Amazônia. In 2023, Idam provided more than R$40 million in rural credit through 1,300 projects, approved by partner financial institutions.

Agricultural Defense

In 2024, Adaf has a budget of R$62.8 million. Among the challenges facing the municipality are the implementation of measures for the Assessment and Improvement of the Quality of Official Veterinary Services (Quali-SV) program; readjustment of the staff, by calling on those approved in the competition held in 2018 or by holding a new competition; physical structuring to further improve the quality of services offered; and maintenance of Adaf in the Brazilian Inspection System (Sisbi).
