Gisele Kümpel, reporter for Canal Monumental, filed a police report against the man who works as Internacional’s mascot for sexual harassment. According to the journalist, the employee hugged and kissed her without consent during the match between Grêmio and Internacional, this Sunday (25), at the Beira-Rio Stadium, in Porto Alegre.

The Civil Police reported that an investigation was opened by the 1st Women’s Police Station of Porto Alegre, on the morning of last Monday (26), to investigate the crime of sexual harassment. Images from the stadium cameras and information about the man who wore the mascot costume during the game were requested.

Gisele sought guidance from the Association of Gaúcho Sports Chroniclers (ACEG) and then went to the Civil Police station at the Beira-Rio Stadium and registered a police report against the employee.

Stadium cameras and information about the suspect were requested to assist in the investigation.

Sport Club Internacional announced, in an official note, that “it will make images from its monitoring circuit available to clarify cases”. Read the full note below:

“Regarding the facts recorded at the Fan Court and Civil Police Station of Beira-Rio after this Sunday’s classic, Internacional informs that, as usual, it will make available images from its monitoring circuit to clarify the cases.

Both the occurrences of chair throwing from visiting fans, which hit Internacional fans, and the complaint registered by a press professional will be monitored by the Club to adopt the appropriate measures.”
