Registration is open for students aged 8 and over

Manaus (AM) – A auction inaugurated, on Thursday (21), the roller skating teaching project at the Alzira Campos municipal velodrome, in Manaus. With participants of all age groups, the action marked the beginning of the partnership between the Fundação Manaus Sport (FME) and the Patins Tradicional Manaus school, which will start running one Patins Tradicional Manaus class per week in the space.

The initiative is part of a set of public policies under the “Manaus Esportiva” program, which seeks to promote the health, leisure, well-being and quality of life of the population through sports. This is what the CEO of FME, Alexandre Maciel, says, highlighting the functionality of the velodrome.

“We have a beautiful velodrome available. We managed to form a partnership with a small roller skating school, to offer free roller skating classes, once a week, in this space. It is a great joy for us. Talking to Mayor David Almeida, we came to the conclusion that this space here needs to be busy, used by the population”,

he stated.

Registration is open to students aged 8 and over, initially, at intermediate and advanced levels. Soon, beginners will also be included in the classes. The teacher of the “Manaus Esportiva” program, Gilmara Jacob, says that there are several options for all tastes.

“Around here we have court tennis, functional training from the age of 18 onwards. If you are at home and want to practice a free sport, you can come to the velodrome, as we have several sports here”,

points.

Those interested in participating in roller skating classes must come with the original and a copy of their ID and proof of residence in hand at the velodrome administration department, which is open from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 11 am and from 2 pm to 5 pm. It is worth noting that students are responsible for their own materials, such as skates and safety equipment (helmet and knee pads).
