Manaus (AM) – On the 22nd, Associação Casa do Professor holds the 1st Dominó and Chess Tournament. The event is aimed at people over the age of 60 and will take place at Colégio Martha Falcão, located at Rua Salvador, n° 455, in the Adrianópolis neighborhood.

“All the money collected will be used for the work on the Casa do Professor”,

informed the teacher and president of the association, Nelly Falcão de Souza.

The top three players in each modality will win a participation medal, while the top three will also take home a trophy.

In addition to contributing to the house, the event aims to provide a fun and challenging experience for senior participants, who face difficulties in finding entertainment, leisure and socialization options.

Teacher’s House

Launched last year, Associação Casa do Professor aims to provide better quality of life, physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being to retired public and private school teachers.

The development is being built in the municipality of Presidente Figueiredo, on BR 174, km 111, and will have a large space of 10,000 m2, surrounded by a preserved green area.

Ten apartments, reception, hall for diversified activities, cafeteria, outpatient clinic, reception, swimming pool, court, space for vegetable garden, nursery, corners for meditation and parking will be part of the structure of Casa do Professor. The work is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

According to teacher Nelly Falcão, the idea is to build a place to welcome and celebrate life especially for retired teachers.

“It will be a space of affection so that they can recover the best memories of warmth, sociability of good interactions and human exchanges”,

said Nelly Falcao.
