Final result should be announced on January 30th
Students have until this Thursday (25), at 11:59 pm (Brasília time), to register for the Unified Selection System (Sisu) 2024. They must check their classification on the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education, and choose two course options.
All candidates who participated, outside of training status, in the National High School Examination (Enem) and did not clear the writing test can register with Sisu and choose to compete for places in two courses. They are automatically classified according to the average Enem score, in the vacancies made available by universities and federal institutes.
The Ministry of Education (MEC) provides the partial cut-off score, by course choice, which is the score of the last classified in the total number of places offered. This score and the ranking of candidates fluctuate depending on the number of applicants and new registrations.
The classification also follows the reservation of vacancies, provided for in the new Quota Law and the affirmative action policies of educational institutions, for eligible candidates who do not qualify in the widely competitive vacancies.
As of last night, 1,156,941 people were already registered, occupying 2,196,597 classifications. This year, 2,208,932 students are eligible to participate in Sisu, which offers 264,181 places, in 6,827 undergraduate courses, in 127 public higher education institutions across Brazil.
The final Sisu result should be released on January 30th and will be used for places in courses scheduled to start in the first and second semesters of this year. On this date, the period for expressing interest on the waiting list will also begin, for unqualified candidates, until February 7th. The remaining vacancies can be filled throughout the year.
