Referees will explain VAR decisions during games

The CBF announced that the referees will explain, during the CBF games, Brazilian championship, decisions reviewed by VAR. The Brazilian Championship starts on April 13th.

Announcements will be made via the microphone already used by the referees. FIFA approved the implementation of the measure.

The novelty had been tested in the final of the 2024 Women’s Super Cup. Corinthians were champions after a 1-0 victory over Cruzeiro.

The CBF also announced that the Brazilian Championship will be suspended during FIFA date periods. Games will take place normally during the Copa América.

Clubs will be able to register up to nine foreign players. Last year, the limit was seven athletes.

Finally, the championship’s top scorer will receive the Roberto Dinamite trophy. The player will also receive financial compensation.
