Rebeca Andrade won another gold medal at the Pan American Games in Santiago. Champion in the table vault competition, the Brazilian artistic gymnastics ace also triumphed on the beam in Santiago, in a double with compatriot Flávia Saraiva.

The 24-year-old from Guarulhos didn’t have a perfect performance on Wednesday afternoon (25), in Chile, but she started with a higher difficulty level, 6.100. She had at least one notable imbalance and, with an execution score of 8.0666, totaled 14.666.

Flávia Saraiva managed a cleaner presentation, but started with a lower difficulty, 5.700. With an execution of 8,333, the 24-year-old from Rio achieved 14,033. The podium was completed by Canadian Ava Stewart, with 13,900.

Finally, on Wednesday night, he put another silver medal on his chest. In her performance in the solo final, she obtained 13.733, the same mark as the American Kayla DiCello. The victory went to the North American Kaliya Lincoln, with 14.233. Brazilian Júlia Soares, with 13.633, came in fourth.

The last competition in artistic gymnastics had another green-yellow double, this one for men. On the bar, Arthur Nory had the best performance in the final and won the gold medal, with 14.333, followed by compatriot Bernardo Miranda, with 14.133.

Brazil also achieved impressive results in other sports throughout the day. Lucas Verthein, 25, from Rio de Janeiro, won gold in rowing, a sport in which the country had not triumphed at the Pan since 1987, in Indianapolis, in the United States.

He won an exciting contest with North American James Plihal in the single sculls, finishing the race in 6min58s76, compared to his opponent’s 6min59s93. In the women’s single sculls event, Beatriz Cardoso, 28, from Rio, took silver.

The medals received by the Brazilian team athletes in the 4 x 100 m medley relay were the same color. In the event that closed swimming at the Pan, Guilherme Basseto, João Gomes Júnior, Vinícius Lanza and Guilherme Santos (3min35s12) were behind only the United States (3min33s29).
