On the night of Santiago, Brazil obtained its third gold medal of the day, the tenth in total. The team formed by Paulo Melo, Edival Pontes, Netinho, and Maicon Andrade beat Chile 48 to 16 in the men’s team taekwondo final. In the women’s competition, Maria Clara Pacheco, Sandy Macedo and Caroline Santos lost to Mexico 61 to 60 and took bronze.
