The traditional peoples who live in the region will have access to citizenship services, such as issuing documents.
The Citizen’s Day, which continues until July 6th, will also be taken to the Kumarumã village. The ceremony also had the participation of the President of the TST, Minister Lélio Bentes. In his speech, the minister, very moved, thanked the receptiveness and welcome of the indigenous people with all the participants of the caravan.
“A fighting people who resisted violence, slavery, cultural destruction. This moment characterizes much more than a visit, we are not passing through, the Labor Court will always be present in the defense of the rights of indigenous peoples”said the president of the TST.
Senator Randolfe recalled that the diversity and mixture of the ethnic groups that live in Amapá was the way that the native peoples found to resist. “Our beautiful mix of ethnicities, Karipunas, Galibis, Palikur, Galibi Marworno, Wajãpi, was the means of resisting, surviving and getting here. They blended together as a reaction to European occupation to maintain cultural identity. The way of being of the people here is this mix!”said the senator.
Randolfe Rodrigues also thanked the minister and all other supporters for carrying out the journey. “It’s beautiful to see so many people united in defense of our native peoples and bringing assistance and citizenship to them.
