Goianos would elect governor Ronaldo Caiado as president if the election were held today

Voters in the state of Goiás would elect the current governor Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil) as president of the Republic if the 2026 election were held today, according to a survey by the Paraná Pesquisas institute released this Monday (3).
The survey indicates that Caiado would be preferred by 30.5% of Goiás voters, ahead of current president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and São Paulo governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), pointed out by the opposition as a possible presidential candidate in 2026.
Caiado’s assessment of the Goiás government is approved by 76% of voters, while Lula’s management is disapproved by 54.1% of Goiás.

- Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil): 30.5%;
- Lula (PT): 19%;
- Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans): 14.8%;
- Simone Tebet (MDB): 7.6%;
- Ciro Gomes (PDT): 5.3%;
- Romeu Zema (New): 4.2%;
- None/blank/null: 12.6%;
- Does not know/did not answer: 5.1%.
Methodology
Paraná Pesquisas interviewed 2,020 voters from 78 municipalities in Goiás in person, between June 24 and 28, 2023. The margin of error is 2.2 percentage points, and the confidence interval is 95%. The survey is not registered with the TRE-GO (Regional Electoral Court of Goiás). Electoral law requires registration only for polls published in the election year.
