Randolfe and government of Amapá receive French minister and entourage – News of Brazil

Randolfe Rodrigues (REDE) and the state government, through the Secretariat for International Relations and Foreign Trade of Amapá, articulated the visit of the French minister, Olivier Fontan. The aim is to strengthen relations between Brazil and France, taking advantage of the strategic location of Amapá, which borders French Guiana.
The state government will carry out a special program to welcome the entourage, presenting the cuisine, culture and art from Amapá.
Among the main issues that will be discussed are the release of the crossing over the Binacional Bridge, the issuance of a visa in Macapá, in addition to other cross-border issues of interest to both countries. According to Senator Randolfe, this is the moment to resume the diplomatic tradition with France.
“Over the last four years we haven’t made any progress in the relationship between Brazil and France, especially when we talk about Amapá and French Guiana. Our state is in a privileged position that should guarantee cooperation that develops the region, such as the free trade agreement between Mercosur and the European Union. We are working hard on that.” assured the senator.
Randolfe also said that, together with the state government and Minister Olivier Fontan, important cooperation for Amapá, such as the sustainable exploitation of the forest, defense of border regions and advances in science and technology, will be discussed.

This Thursday (13th), the delegation will be in Macapá fulfilling its agenda. On the 14th, with the presence of the minister, the French will participate in the solemn reception ceremony at the Palácio do Setentrião, after which they will visit the Casa do Artesão to honor cultural activities and taste the regional cuisine.
The entourage also participates in a military ceremony held by the armed forces of France, Brazil, Suriname, on Saturday (15), in French Guiana.
