Striker John Kennedy, from Fluminense, is one of the new additions to the list of 23 players called up for the Brazilian pre-Olympic team announced this Tuesday (7) by coach Ramon Menezes, for the final training sessions before the Pre-Olympic Tournament in January, at Venezuela. Goalkeepers Mycael (Athletico-PR) and Andrew (Gil Vicente/Portugal) won Pan American gold; full-back Patryck (São Paulo); defenders Arthur Chaves (Acadêmico de Viseu/Portugal) and Michel (Palmeiras); midfielder Igor Jesus (Flamengo); and attackers Guilherme Biro (Corinthians) and Matheus Nascimento (Botafogo).
Preparation begins next Monday (13) and runs until November 21 at the Joaquim Grava Training Center (CT) (Corinthians). Two-time champion at the Tokyo Games, Brazil needs to reach the Pre-Olympic final to guarantee its presence in Paris 2024.
A total of 10 teams will fight for the two places in the Pre-Olympic in Venezuela, between January 20th and February 11th, 2024. The competition will take place in the capital Caracas and also in the cities of Valencia and Barquisimeto. Brazil is in Group A, along with Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador).
