Of the 16 lawsuits filed against former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) in 2022, eight are from the Coligação Brasil da Esperança, a block composed of PT, PCdoB, PV, PSB, PSOL, Rede, Solidariedade, Agir, Avante and Pros.
Most lawsuits accuse the former representative of abuse of political, economic and media power for using images of official events of the Presidency of the Republic in an election campaign. The commemoration of the Bicentennial of Independence, the opening speech of the 77th UN General Assembly and the burial of Queen Elizabeth II are cited in the lawsuits.
Three similar actions were also presented by Ciro Gomes (PDT) and Soraya Thronicke (União-MT), both candidates for the presidency of the Republic in 2022.
In addition to the lawsuit judged this Tuesday at the TSE, the Democratic Labor Party (PDT) filed four other lawsuits against the former president.
The acronym calls for the ineligibility of the Bolsonaro-Braga Netto ticket, citing the use of the Palácio do Planalto and the Palácio da Alvorada by Bolsonaro in alleged campaign acts, such as the traditional lives on Thursday; supposed “box 2” in the distribution of campaign material by the “Casa da Pátria” movement and electoral use of the Bicentennial of Independence.
