PT members articulate gesture from Dilma and Erundina to Marta – 01/25/2024 – Panel

The PT launched an operation to try to convince former president Dilma Rousseff (PT) and federal deputy Luiza Erundina (PSOL) to make a public gesture of rapprochement with Marta Suplicy, who will join the party again to be Guilherme Boulos’ deputy ( PSOL) in the dispute for Mayor of São Paulo in October.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) himself must get involved in the mission and talk to both. The idea of ​​the action is to reinforce the concept of a broad front with which PT and PSOL have tried to package the ticket in the capital of São Paulo.

In the interpretation of people involved in the project, an image showing Dilma, Marta and Erundina would have a strong symbolic charge and would represent the overcoming of differences in the name of unity against everything that Jair Bolsonaro (PL) represents, whose support Ricardo Nunes (MDB) has pleaded.

In the case of the former president, an analysis of possible impediments related to her current position as president of the Brics bank still needs to be carried out.

The relationship between Marta and Dilma soured in 2016, when the former, who at the time was a senator for the MDB, voted in favor of the latter’s impeachment. At an event that year, Marta even delivered flowers to lawyer Janaína Paschoal, author of the impeachment request, during a session in the Senate, a scene that was widely criticized by PT members.

Erundina, in turn, has already publicly criticized Marta. In 2016, when the two were running for Mayor of São Paulo, Erundina said that Marta was a “traitor of the people” and had not passed the test “as a feminist”, as she supported the “illegitimate” and “machist” government of Michel Temer ( MDB).

She also criticized Marta for leaving the PT at the “most tragic moment in the party’s history” and that she had betrayed the party, the left and the people.

Recently, Erundina told the Panel that she has difficulty understanding Lula’s choice to ask Marta to return to the PT to be Boulos’ deputy.
