Federal deputy Zeca Dirceu (PR), who will assume the leadership of the PT bench in the Chamber in February, criticized the party’s attitude in recent elections for the presidency of the House and defended that the party exchanges the posture of “political struggle” for pragmatism occupying positions on the board of directors.

“The PT made a lot of mistakes over the last few years, because, with one or two exceptions, most of the time, it wanted to carry out a political struggle and gave up occupying the spaces that, proportionally, belong to the PT. Now, we are doing it differently “, he said in an interview with Focus magazine, published by Perseu Abramo, the PT’s party foundation.

Zeca, who endorses Arthur Lira’s (PP-AL) re-election support, said that the dispute in the Chamber “is not the time to ‘do well in the picture'” and “try to create a confrontation so that there can be positive news for a week in the newspaper”. For him, the priority is to target spaces of power that will have an impact for two years.

“Everyone knows how much Arthur Lira accumulated power and strength in the face of even weaknesses and omission
of the previous government. He coordinated a large part of the country’s budget execution and already has enough votes regardless of the PT bench to be elected president”, he commented.

The son of former minister José Dirceu (PT) also criticized Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR), his future colleague in Parliament. For the petista, the former prosecutor will not be able to establish himself in the House because he is arrogant and lacks the humility to negotiate. “I think he doesn’t have the attributes and is very poorly seen. I still haven’t managed to find a deputy, a female deputy, who has a minimum of sympathy for him.”

The PT leader said that Deltan’s profile is similar to that of future senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR), whom he called a “thief judge”. For Zeca, “these people will not have an easy life, no”.

In the interview, it was also left to governors of states and municipalities who contest the salary adjustment for public school teachers, announced by the MEC (Ministry of Education). The CNM (National Confederation of Municipalities) says the act was illegal.

Zeca said that it is necessary to help entities “that really don’t have financial condition” to honor the national teaching floor, but that this would not be the case for everyone.

“What we have seen over the last few years are municipalities that have expanded their collection a lot, they are states that have expanded their collection a lot and lie. .
