The Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region (TRF-4), the same court that sentenced Lula in the context of Lava Jato, invited Célio Golin, founder of the PT in Nonoai (RS), to participate in a panel at the Training Course for 30 federal judges first degree students approved in the last competition. The training took place on January 15, 2024.

In addition to being a PT activist, Golin is the author of books on LGBT issues and founder of Nuances – Group for Free Sexual Expression.

Golin was also a candidate for councilor for the PT in Porto Alegre (RS), in 2008, but received only 1,805 votes.

According to documents obtained by the newspaper MetropolisesGolin was hired via unenforceable bidding for the amount of R$ 556. To the newspaper, the TRF-4 said that Golin “participated as a guest debater at a panel in a Training course for first-degree federal judges on 15/1 and that it was a “single and occasional participation”.

According to the schedule of courses offered to judges, Golin spoke to the judges about “dialogues and perceptions before Justice”.

This is not the first time that Golin has participated in this type of event at TRF-4. In 2016, Golin participated in a panel at the seminar “Human Rights, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity: homosexuality and demands involving transsexuality in Federal Justice” promoted by the court.

The panel in which Golin participated had the theme: “Decisions that Marked the Era – The Journey of the Judiciary in the Recognition of Social Rights for Homosexuals”.

According to TRF-4, the 30 magistrates are undergoing four months of preparatory courses “to exercise judicial activity”.
