PSDB leaders from São Paulo met in December with the party’s national president, Marconi Perillo, in a meeting marked by criticism of Eduardo Leite (PSDB-RS), governor who led the party in the last cycle.

The main censures were directed at the supposed persecution of those who allied themselves with João Doria. Upon hearing the comments, Perillo reportedly responded that he did not agree with such stances, as he had also been targeted. Relevant names such as Carlão Pignatari, Duarte Nogueira, Eduardo Cury and Ricardo Tripoli participated in the meeting.

In this sense, Perillo has told leaders that he will promote previews in the São Paulo state directory as soon as possible, in February. Leite placed an ally of his, Paulo Serra, mayor of Santo André, in charge of São Paulo on the penultimate day of his term as tucano president, on November 28. He replaced Marco Vinholi, linked to Doria and who was blocked by Leite in October.

Although criticized, Leite is seen in the party as a presidential candidate for 2026. Therefore, the changes to be implemented, such as changes in the roles of his allies, must be made through negotiation and dialogue with the governor of Rio Grande do Sul.
