PSDB launches tool to reinforce criticism of Lula – 12/22/2023 – Panel

Linked to the PSDB, the Teotônio Vilela Institute, now chaired by federal deputy Aécio Neves (MG), will launch a tool at the beginning of the year to reinforce opposition to the Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) government.
The initiative, called Opposition Lighthouse, will gather data on various topics. One of the first to be addressed is the public security crisis, especially in Bahia, governed for 16 years by the PT.
“We want to reinforce that the PSDB has a national project and can be an alternative to both the PT’s spending and the backward customs agenda of Bolsonarism”, says Aécio, chosen for the position at the beginning of the month.
The tool will be coordinated by Marcelo Garcia, who was national secretary of Assistance in the Fernando Henrique Cardoso government.
Other topics to be covered are management, education, economics and public spending. “The PT manages poverty, it does not overcome poverty. In all the years it has been in power, inequalities in the country have only increased”, says Aécio.
The PSDB renewed its leadership last month, with the idea of having a more incisive attitude of opposition to the Lula government. The objective is to try to reverse the decline of the party, which has lost staff and elected officials in recent years.
