The new municipal president of the Social Democratic Party, Diogo Grunho, stated this Saturday morning, the 13th, that the party will not have its own candidate for this year’s election for mayor of Macapá, focusing support on the current public management of the municipality with the aim of supporting the candidacy of the current manager, Antonio Furlan, to re-election.
Grunho also informed that the PSD, for councilor, will compete in the capital with a full ticket, that is, 24 candidates, as required by law, the number of seats in the plenary session of the Macapá City Council, 23, plus one.
The president emphasized that at the moment the party is calling on the party’s current councilors, Nelson Souza and Paulo Nery, as well as other members of the directory, to compose the nomination of candidates for the Junior Legislature to be registered with the Electoral Court.
Diogo Grunho took advantage of the radio program to call on members of other parties, and even those who do not yet have a party life, but want to run for councilor, to seek out the PSD to regularize their situations under the Electoral Law and qualify for the election. October 6th.
Grunho, who has been cited as a candidate for Furlan’s vice-president, on the matter, said that this will be decided by consensus between the acronyms supporting the mayor, in addition to PSD, Podemos, MDB and PRD.
The president of the Social Democratic Party presented the group as the largest group in the Senate of the Republic, where leader Lucas Barreto is located, and the fifth largest in the Federal Chamber. In Amapá, the PSD has two deputies with seats in the Legislative Assembly, Lorran Barreto and Edna Auzier, and councilors Paulo Nery and Nelson Souza.
