Manaus (AM) – Argemiro Mory, 13 years old, will compete in the TMB Platinum Brazilian Interclubs Olympic and Paralympic, a competition organized by the Brazilian Table Tennis Confederation (CBTM), in São Paulo. The young man, who has been standing out in national and international competitions, receives sponsorship from the Government of Amazonas through the Bolsa Sport Estadual.

The TMB Platinum will be held between February 28th and March 3rd, and will serve as a selection stage for the Brazilian team, with two places for first and second place, and another two places for each technical index. For Argemiro it will be another step in his quest to become a professional table tennis player, the Amazon native has big aspirations for the future.

“I hope to do well in the competition, it is a very important competition and the opponents will be qualified. This year, I hope to improve my position in the world championship, I managed to be third in the Argentine stage, I want to be champion. In the future, all of this will count as experience to make my dream of competing in the Olympic Games come true,”

declared Argemiro Mory.

In national competitions, Argemiro won the TMB Plus Manaus in the Junior and Rating categories, joining the Brazilian team in 2022 and 2023. At the international level, he achieved silver in doubles and team in the South American Championships held in Paraguay, in addition to third place in the World Cup. Table Tennis (WTT) in Rosario, Argentina.

Still in March, the athlete will travel to the Training Camp in China, where he will undergo an intense training routine, playful exercises and exchange experience with other table tennis players, and will compete in the world stage of the WTT in Chile.

“Argemiro is an example of the talent and potential we have in our state. The support from the Government of Amazonas, through the Bolsa Sport Estadual, is not just an investment in a promising athlete, but rather a bet on the future of Amazonian sport”, said the Secretary of State for Sports and Leisure (Sedel), Jorge Oliveira .
