project bans children from Gay Parade

The João Pessoa City Council (PB) approved an ordinary bill, this Tuesday (7), authored by councilor Tarcísio Jardi (PP), which prohibits the presence of children in gay parades or similar events. The text goes to Mayor Cícero Lucena (PP) for approval.

In justifying the project, the councilor states that these demonstrations, initially important for raising awareness of problems suffered by the LGBT community, have been distorted with attacks on traditional families, religions and the early eroticization of children and adolescents.

“I think it is extremely important to protect our children from this sexual ideological infection, which tries to use innocent figures to cause a social outcry for issues that have nothing to do with children”, he stated at the end of the vote. The proposal received only one vote against, from councilor Marcos Henriques (PT).

The text considers gay parades and similar parties to be “all those movements carried out by the LGBTQIA+ community”. If approved, violation of the law will result in punishments and fines for the companies organizing these events.

In June this year, several cities registered the presence of children in demonstrations promoted by the LGBT community. In São Paulo, the group “Children Trans Existe”, at the 27th Gay Parade, exposed several children characterized as belonging to the opposite sex, carrying banners created by LGBT activism entities.

As several studies point out, up to 90% of children who say they want to be the opposite sex give up when they reach puberty. The gender transition process carried out by parents when the child is still incapable of making a decision like this, of major proportions, has irreversible physical and psychological impacts.
