Programming of the 3rd State Culture Conference has multidisciplinary thematic axes

Manaus (AM) – The 3rd State Culture Conference takes place on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd, at the Vasco Vasques Convention Center, av. Constantino Nery, Flores neighborhood, Central-South area of ​​Manaus. The event will be mediated by six thematic axes, each with their respective speakers and mediators, to discuss cultural and social issues.

The 1st axis, “Institutionalization, Legal Frameworks and National Culture System”, has as speaker the anthropologist Mauro Dourado, who works at the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan), and is a member of the Center for Studies on Popular Culture, Heritage Cultural and Cities at the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam). Social scientist Rila Arruda mediates the debate.

In the 2nd axis, “Democratization of Access to Culture and Social Participation”, Itaasu Melo is at the forefront of the debate. The multifaceted professional in the cultural segment stands out in sound engineering and music production, in addition to having a master’s degree in Amazonian Society and Culture from Ufam. As mediator, the debate features professor Ivânia Vieira, who works at Ufam.

The 3rd axis, whose theme is “Identity, Heritage and Memory”, features activist and digital scribbler Juarez Silva as a speaker. The master in History from Ufam has repercussions on black movements and is a student of race relations and Afro-Brazilian culture, social movements and human rights. The axis’ mediator is Francy Júnior, historian, actress, cultural producer and human rights activist.

In axis number 4, “Cultural Diversity and Transversalities of Gender, Race and Accessibility in Cultural Policy”, Taciano Soares is the one who takes the lead in the debate. The speaker is a stage artist, director, author, producer and cultural manager. He works as a professor of the Theater course at the State University of Amazonas (UEA). As mediator of the axis, João Fernandes, university professor, creator and director of the Casarão de Ideias Cultural Center.

For the 5th axis, “Creative Economy, Work, Income and Sustainability”, the speaker will be Beto Contartesi, founder and manager of OSC Valendo – Creative Economy of the Amazon. It operates in Amazonas and the states of the Legal Amazon, promoting the creative economy through public and private events, occupation and revitalization of spaces. Musician, businessman, producer and cultural manager Ewerton Almeida mediates the debate.

In the 6th and final axis, “Right to Arts and Digital Languages”, cultural producer, events advisor and postgraduate student in strategic marketing management Lydia Lucia will act as a speaker. For mediation, professor, author, director and playwright Jorge Bandeira, who served as municipal culture advisor in the Theater department.

For the executive secretary of the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of Amazonas, KK Bonates, the training of each chosen speaker and mediator will be fundamental to enrich the debates and reflections. “Our goal is to provide a unique and enriching experience for all participants. Each speaker was chosen not only for their notable achievements, but also for their ability to inspire and instigate deep reflection on the challenges and opportunities facing our culture,” he said.

About the event

The 3rd State Culture Conference is promoted by the State Government, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, with the support of the State Culture Council, State University of Amazonas (UEA), Amazonastur, Ministry of Culture and the Federal Government.

The meeting will bring together the artistic class, culture makers, civil society and more than 150 delegates elected and approved in the interior of the state and in the capital. Registration remains open on the Culture Portal (cultura.am.gov.br), where the full meeting schedule is also available.

The program will run from January 21st to 23rd, from 9am to 6pm, restricted to working groups, to prepare proposals that will make up the State Culture Plan. After 6pm, musical and artistic attractions take the stage every day, with free entry. The event will also feature a kids and gastronomic space.
