New musical show ‘A Viagem da Tia Rhody’ takes place this Saturday, in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – For the first time in Manaus, the Camerata do Cerrado de Brasília (DF) presents a musical show with storytelling, this Saturday (20), at the Rio Solimões Hall, Palácio Rio Negro. The recital is part of the 1st Brazilian Meeting of Violinists, which will bring together professionals in the field from all over the country in the capital of Amazonas.

The purpose of the event is to take a journey through music with the presentation of works by Brazilian composers such as Amazonian Claudio Santoro, Ernst Mahle, among others. In the second moment, the camera interprets the unprecedented “A Viagem da Tia Rhody”, an interactive show that includes songs inspired by different regions visited by the character.

“There is an English nursery rhyme ‘Go Tell Aunt Rhody’ dating back to the 19th century that is about loss and pain. Our show provides an optimistic retelling of this classic with Aunt Rhody, after her loss, deciding to travel around the world and even finding love again. The narration will be performed by the storyteller, violinist Priscila Sabino. The difference with the presentation in Manaus is that we will have the participation of musicians from here and other states”,

says the music producer, violinist and one of the creators of the show, Juliana Verde.

The show was supported by the Federal District Culture Connection Program and the Federal District Culture Support Fund for participation in national strategic events.

“This is what allows us to have this experience of musical and cultural exchange between the Camerata do Cerrado and the students of the 1st Brazilian Violinist Meeting. It is a way of promoting musical education with the appreciation of classical music in the community, in addition to having a cultural diversity of musical talents at the festival”,

explains Juliana.

The students who will perform together with the Camerata at Palácio Rio Negro are part of the musical workshops that take place during the violinists’ meeting. The group has more than 15 people, and includes students from Manaus, Japurá, in the interior of Amazonas, Brasília (DF) and other Brazilian states.

The event starts at 6pm, at the Rio Solimões Room at Palácio Rio Negro located on Avenida 7 de Setembro, Center of Manaus. Entry is free, but with limited places. The age range is free.

Based in Brasília (DF), Camerata do Cerrado, under the artistic direction of violinists and teachers Ricardo Palmezano and Luciana Caixeta, is a group of violinists that seeks to explore sonic possibilities, in addition to promoting the professionalization process of young artists.
