This year’s edition of IJP (Internationale Journalisten-Programme), a German government program that offers professional exchange to journalists from Latin America, is open for registration until December 17th.

Those selected will receive a scholarship of €4,000 (R$21.3 thousand, at the current exchange rate) and will work between May and June 2024 in a newsroom in Berlin, the capital of Germany. A week-long trip to two or three cities in the country is also planned.

IJP accepts applications from professional journalists, already trained, aged between 25 and 38 years old. To apply, you must speak German or have excellent fluency in English or Spanish. The application form must include a letter of intent, professional CV, recommendation from an editor and three recently produced reports.

The Internationale Journalisten-Programme is organized by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has existed since 1997. According to the German Consulate General, the project aims to strengthen relations between Germany and Latin America in the field of communications. See more information here.
