Superintendent of Incra (National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform) in Alagoas, Cesar Lira, cousin of the mayor, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), should lose his position to an ally of the government Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
The name of his replacement has already been discussed in the Alagoas bench, coordinated by federal deputy Paulão (PT).
The federal government has changed 19 Incra superintendences since the beginning of the year, with the idea of placing allies and removing nominees by the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) administration.
The MST (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Terra) has been protesting to pressure the government to make the changes and even invaded Incra’s headquarters in Alagoas in early April to ask for the departure of Cesar Lira, who has been in the post since 2017.
In addition to pressure from the MST, Cesar’s apparent detachment from Incra also contributed to Cesar’s departure. In recent meetings on the subject, he indicated that he does not see the autarchy as a relevant area of political influence for his projects.
