President of the vaccination front files a complaint against Bolsonaro for card fraud – 03/20/2024 – Panel

Representative Dorinaldo Malafaia (PDT-AP) presents this Wednesday (20) with the Federal Public Ministry a complaint against Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for crimes against public health and vaccination, amid the indictment of the former president by the Police Federal for Covid-19 card fraud.

The parliamentarian, who chairs the Parliamentary Front in Defense of the Vaccine of the Chamber of Deputies, asks the MPF to investigate the complaints presented.

In the complaint, he states that the president’s actions of falsifying vaccination certificates are “inappropriate and unethical conduct at an international level, especially when circumventing health security measures during international travel.”

“Forgery of documents is a serious offense that can lead to significant legal consequences, both nationally and internationally”, indicates the complaint.

In the text, the deputy also says that Bolsonaro violated fundamental rights, by disrespecting scientific guidelines from health authorities and “promoting a strategy that favored the spread of the virus, contradicting social distancing measures and the use of masks.”

“The then President of the Republic delayed vaccination, discouraged vaccination, defrauded an official document. It’s a very significant thing, not just anything. We cannot turn this issue into a banality”, he states. “People who defend Bolsonaro need to reflect that Bolsonaro is not above the law, he cannot be above the crimes that were committed.”
