President of the CPMI will trigger the STF to obtain images of Dino at the Ministry of Justice on 1/8

The president of the CPMI, Arthur Maia (União Brasil-BA), questioned the decision of the Minister of Justice Flávio Dino to deny the sharing of videos of the ministry’s headquarters on the day of the acts of vandalism. He asked the Advocacy of the Senate to officiate the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to demand the delivery of the required documents.

Opposition lawmakers say they believe the videos can shed light on what Dino was doing as protesters entered Praça dos Três Poderes. In theory, they could provide evidence of connivance or omission by the minister. Dino denied providing the images, arguing that they were already being analyzed by the STF.

“We cannot accept this. More than the failure of the negotiations, passively accepting such a posture is condemning the CPMI to ridicule,” she said. He fears that such a refusal could cause all other requests to be relativized or denied.

Dino’s claim that the required content is part of a confidential investigation conducted by the Federal Court and the Federal Police (PF) was refuted by Maia, who recalled having spoken with Minister Alexandre de Moraes about possible restrictions.

“We are going to start investigating the omissions now. Minister Dino has no reason to censor a film that the population wants to see”, said Senator Esperidião Amin (PP-SC). Deputy Delegate Ramagem (PL-RJ) said that parliamentarians will call the Public Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the minister’s denial as a possible crime of responsibility and disrespect to Congress.
