The National Police of Spain opened a investigation into the racist insults that Vinícius Júnior received around the Mestalla stadiumwhere a group of fans called the Real Madrid player a “monkey” before the duel against Valencia on May 21.

The information was confirmed this Thursday to EFE by sources from the National Police, who were unable to detail whether any of them were identified or are already being investigated for these racist screams, of which there is evidence in several videos published on social networks.

The Court of Instruction 10 of Valencia investigates the racist insults to the Real Madrid player by several fans that occurred inside the Mestalla.

Sources from the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) confirmed to EFE that the court is investigating what appears in the police report it received and which referred to the insults inside the stadium.

As a result, three young people aged between 18 and 21 were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a hate crime, and the Competition Committee of the Spanish Federation set a penalty of banning part of the Mestalla stands for five games, which it was later reduced to three.

O court subpoenaed the three youths who were detained as alleged perpetrators of these insults to give testimony on June 19th as investigated. The Brazilian, in turn, will be heard on June 27, as a victim of racist screams.

Upon taking over the case after receiving the police report for a possible hate crime, the court holder also agreed to notify the Madrid judge to give the possibility for the Brazilian player to testify by videoconference from the Spanish capital.
