PMB announces Cristina Graeml as pre-candidate for mayor of Curitiba

The Por Mais Brasil (PMB) party announced this Friday (26) the journalist Cristina Graeml as a pre-candidate for mayor of Curitiba (PR) in the 2024 municipal elections. The Curitiba journalist’s affiliation with the party took place at the end of last year and the application must represent the conservatism in the next electoral campaign in the capital of Paraná.

“This conservative electorate that approached me, through class bodies, people who represent sectors of society, bringing this demand because they do not see anyone on the political spectrum who could represent them. They feel represented by my voice and understand that I can do this through politics,” he says.

State president of the PMB, Fabiano dos Santos, recalls that the party, still considered new in national politics, has worked in recent years in Paraná in defense of Christian and family principles, launching candidates for the Guardianship Council and positioning itself strategically in society.

“There was this phenomenon in Brazil of a conservative right in search of political space. Conversations with Cristina began and were quick because we clearly saw that there was an alignment of thoughts and actions, in addition to the idea of ​​having a candidacy that actually represents the conservatives in Curitiba”, comments Santos.

In the last municipal elections, the party president recalled that councilor Ezequias Barros was elected by the PMB in the capital. “The campaign was 100% independent, we did not take money from the Party Fund, which we are not entitled to, or through any other means of electoral legislation. All the work was done internally, recruiting and providing political training to people,” he recalls.

The strategy should be repeated in the electoral race for mayor of Curitiba in 2024, especially on social media. “An efficient campaign will take place 70% on social media and we intend to enlist conservatives in Curitiba and give them the knowledge to become multipliers, not robots, but people who understand the importance of this electoral process.”

Party is in the process of changing its name

In a note sent to the press, the PMB in Paraná explained that the party’s national leadership filed a request to change its name with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) in April 2021, changing it from ”Brazilian Women’s Party” to ” For More Brazil”. The case, according to the note, continues to be processed in the electoral court under the rapporteur of minister Alexandre de Moraes and has not yet been judged. Even so, reinforces the PMB local directory, the new name will be used in the 2024 Elections.

”Considering that the decision to change the name is partisan and irreversible, the state executive decides to immediately use the new name”, confirms the note.

Curitiba, Cristina Graeml worked as a TV reporter for 26 years

Graduated in Social Communication – Journalism from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in 1992, Cristina Graeml worked as a TV reporter for 26 years.
