Manaus (AM) – Representative Thiago Abrahim (União Brasil) had three more matters approved by the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam). One of the projects was nº 614/2023, which prioritizes the removal of civil and military police officers from Amazonas who have PCD children or dependents.

“Happy with the approval of this matter. There are municipalities that do not have adequate treatment for some types of disabilities and it is necessary for us to have this different perspective. The disability must be proven through a report issued by a qualified medical professional or psychologist, duly registered with their professional body and assessed by the responsible sector of the SSP”,

explained the parliamentarian.

Another bill approved by Aleam, authored by Thiago Abrahim, was No. 791/2023, which provides for the creation of a state register of information to combat violence against women.

“The state registry aims to gather information on people with final and unappealable convictions for crimes based on the Maria da Penha Law. The rates of violence against women are alarming in Amazonas. There were more than 4 thousand women assaulted in 2022, according to data from the Amazonas Health Surveillance Foundation”,

Legislative resolution project No. 93/2023, which awards the Ruy Araújo Medal to the rector of the State University of Amazonas (UEA), André Zogahib, was also approved.

“Zogahib has been doing a brilliant job leading the UEA. Thanks to UEA’s support, we will implement the University’s first rural hub in Vila de Novo Remanso, which is a reason for great joy for all of us”,
