Pink October: Cycling tour ends with health and well-being support services – News of Brazil

Macapá City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Sports and Leisure (Semel) promoted this Saturday (28), a cycling tour alluding to the Pink October campaign, dedicated to raising awareness about the prevention, care and early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer.
Servers and members of pedal groups traveled a route of approximately 5 km, which started at Concha Acústica do Araxá, passing through several streets and avenues of the city, arriving at ‘Espaço da Família’, located in the leisure complex at Praça Nossa Senhora de Fatima.
A series of health and well-being support services, such as consultations with nutritionists, massage therapy, zumba, recreational activities and distribution of water and fruits, were part of the program.
According to the acting secretary of Semel, Charles Sampaio, The benefits of physical activity are widely known for the health of the body and mind. “The event provides well-being and fun for everyone. We want to raise awareness among the population about the dangers of breast cancer and also provide guidance on preventive measures to be adopted to avoid the disease”he highlighted.
Housewife Jane Ferreira, resident of the Novo Horizonte neighborhood, took her husband and daughter to participate in the bike ride. “I was very determined to participate in this event. It’s an activity that’s good for your health and it’s for a good cause too.”he said.
The event had the partnership of several pedal groups, and support from the Macapá Traffic and Transport Company (CTMac) and the Municipal Guard.
