The Brazilian women’s team held training this Saturday (15) in the Gold Coast behind closed doors. Nine days to go before the World Cup debutcoach Pia Sundhage commanded a collective of 11 against 11 and, in another shift, she even returned to the field to work separately with some athletes.

The Swedish coach took advantage of the collective to make technical and tactical adjustments to the squad and seems to be starting to define the starting lineup for the World Cup debut. Because they were rested in the training game against China last Thursday, Bia Zaneratto, from Palmeiras, and Geyse, from Barcelona, ​​returned to the field in the afternoon along with the young Aline Gomes for a finishing job.

Nycole participated in the activities and shows that she continues to recover after missing the first training sessions in Australia due to an ankle injury. Defender Rafaelle highlighted the intensity of training and that, after spending 11 days focusing on the physical part, the next training sessions should gain more technical and tactical characteristics.

“Training is very intense, the girls are responding very well. We are focusing a little more on the physical part, now we are going to get into the more technical and tactical part. Physically, everyone gave a lot in these 11 days. we are exhausted so much that we are working hard in training and that is very good”, she said.

The next training session for the Brazilian team will take place this Sunday, at 2 am (Brasília time) and at 3 pm in Australia. The Brazilian team will leave the Gold Coast on Tuesday (18) for Brisbane, where they will be concentrated during the first phase of the World Cup. There, the selection will make the final stretch of preparation before the debut on July 24 against Panama.
