Photos indicate possible tagger of ‘perdeu, mané’ in the STF – 01/24/2023 – Politics

Photos taken by Sheet during the invasion and destruction of the headquarters of the Three Powers, on January 8 in Brasilia, they show a woman who was possibly the graffiti artist of the statue “A Justiça”, a work that is located in front of the headquarters of the STF (Federal Supreme Court).

In one of the images, she is on top of the sculpture with one of her hands touching the graffiti phrase: “Perdeu, mané”. Then, still on top of the work, she shows off her ink-stained hands and smiles.

Afterwards, she sits on the statue and takes the cell phone from the hands of a man, who is standing. In the sequence, the woman descends from the sculpture and hugs the man, who is also smiling.

When the woman is on top of the statue, the man appears in the images standing with his cell phone pointed at the scene. You can also see that there are two ink strokes on the woman’s face.

The graffitied phrase on the sculpture is a reference to Minister Luís Roberto Barroso’s (STF) response to harassment by a supporter of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). “You lost, asshole. Don’t bother!”, said the minister to the man who approached him on the street, in New York, in November.

THE Sheet identified a resident of the interior of São Paulo who would be the woman in the photos and spoke with her by phone. She was located through a search on social networks, which led to a person who, under the condition of anonymity, indicated that he knew the woman in the images.

According to this person, the woman was in Brasilia on the weekend of the invasion of the headquarters of the Three Powers and transmitted the action of the vandals in real time on her Instagram profile.

Although she deleted posts from her social networks, prints were made from one of her profiles, reinforcing her connection with the acts.

In one of her last publications, the woman shared a video with the title “Convocation 12/18 and 12/19. Call to Patriots”. In it, a man claims that it is necessary to “give strength to the Armed Forces” and “to fill Brasília” to repeat the “September 7” of 2022.

THE Sheet spoke to the woman by phone on Friday (20). She showed surprise when asked about vandalizing the statue and said: “Did I vandalize the statue?”. From that moment on, she was silent and stopped answering the questions put to her.

After that contact, she no longer answered calls or responded to messages.

The sculpture “A Justiça” is one of the main works by Alfredo Ceschiatti from Minas Gerais, and is valued at between R$ 2 million and R$ 3 million. Sculpted in granite, the statue is more than three meters high and is located in Praça dos Três Poderes, in front of the main entrance of the STF.

The 1961 sculpture depicts the goddess of Justice in Greek mythology. The woman is seated, blindfolded, with a sword in her lap. Unlike other representations, Ceschiatti’s “A Justiça” does not have the scales in hand.

Federal Police experts must indicate the substance used to vandalize the work. The phrase “perdeu, mané” was also graffitied several times on the windows of the STF.
