On Amapá Attorney’s Day, celebrated this Thursday, 7th, the governor Clécio Luís highlighted the importance and recognition of the work of professionals in defense of the interests of the State. To mark the date, the manager authorized the call of six new attorneys approved in the institution’s 2018 public competition.

The signing of the summons took place at the headquarters of the Attorney General of the State of Amapá (PGE-AP), with the presence of prosecutors from Amapá, as well as technicians from the institution.

“It is the recognition of the role of the State Attorney General’s Office, which is a body that has gained its autonomy and will now have a full staff. I feel honored with this achievement, the result of a lot of work, even before I arrived in Government. In addition to the call, our teams are also advancing other PGE demands, so that it is increasingly stronger and present in the State’s defense actions”highlighted the governor Clécio Luís.

The indication for the advancement of the phases of the public competition was witnessed by the president of the National Agency of State and Federal District Attorneys (Anape), Vicente Braga. At the meeting, the organization presented Clécio Luís with the commemorative medal celebrating Anape’s 40th anniversary, in recognition of its dedication to defending the interests of the State and its commitment to Justice and public service.

Strengthening PGE-AP

With the future inauguration of the new civil servants, the effective staff of the PGE, which currently has 44 prosecutors, will now have 50 professionals, which represents an advance in public law.

“The greatest virtue of the State Attorney is to ensure that public policy reaches those who need it most. We live in a country of inequalities, and our job is to reduce these inequalities. This call represents respect for the career and role of PGE, which with the tenders and more administrative processes, has faced a greater demand for work”highlighted the State Attorney General, Thiago Albuquerque.

On the eve of Women’s Day, the governor also cited the attentive dedication of women prosecutors in the State of Amapá.

“This work becomes even more important and special because it is carried out diligently in the search for justice in Amapá. Today we have 10 prosecutors on the State staff and on the competition list, among the 6 candidates, 3 are women. It is very important for Amapá to see them occupying these spaces and making a difference”, completed Clécio Luís.

On the date on which Amapá State Prosecutor’s Day is celebrated and also Public Advocacy Day, the call symbolizes the relevance of the prosecutor’s role, which can go beyond defending the interests of the State. The professional assumes the responsibilities of showing the legal paths so that public policies are made viable for the benefit of the people of Amapá.
