The resources will be used mainly to complete works to protect the population during the rainy season
Manaus (AM) – The municipality of Manaus will now receive parliamentary amendments for structuring investments. The announcement was made by Mayor David Almeida (Avante), after a meeting between senators and federal deputies from Amazonas, held last Tuesday (21), to debate the allocation of funds in 2024.
The resources will be allocated to strategic areas and will contribute to the execution of works aimed at protecting the population during the rainy season. The mayor stated that works to contain soil erosion will be carried out, as well as the cleaning and desilting of streams.
At the meeting, senators Omar Aziz (PSD), Plínio Valério (PSDB) and Eduardo Braga (MDB), in addition to six of the eight federal deputies indicated support with amendments.
“My contribution will be in the health area, with an amendment of twenty million. I understand that it is necessary to collaborate so that our people have better assistance and service”,
said Plínio Valério.
In addition to the senator, federal deputy Plínio Valério declared that the allocation of his amendments will also focus on health, to strategically contribute to the municipalities most affected by the lack of structure.
The investments target several areas, in addition to health, such as education and infrastructure.
“The mandatory amendments, the bench amendments and the amendments that we are going to make in the budget, we will try to provide a lot of agility for the release of these resources. Next year is an atypical year and municipalities can only bid until June. It takes a significant amount of time for you to regularize the bidding for a work, often more than a year. We are going to work hard now with the sectoral rapporteurs, both in health and infrastructure”,
explained senator Omar Aziz (PSD), coordinator of the Amazonas bench.
According to Omar Aziz, each parliamentarian will have an average of R$29 million in tax amendments to distribute among the state’s municipalities, totaling 62.
