Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has mobilized a delegation of politicians to participate in the inauguration of the new president of Argentina, Javier Milei, scheduled for December 10th.
Among the names invited by Bolsonaro are the governors: Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), from São Paulo, Romeu Zema (Novo), from Minas Gerais, Jorginho Mello (PL), from Santa Catarina, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), from Goiás, and Ratinho Jr. (PSD), from Paraná. Tarcísio, Caiado and Jorginho Mello have already confirmed their presence, according to information from Folha de S. Paulo.
The former president is also expected to take the former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro, the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, and close advisors, such as the former secretary of Communications (Secom) Fábio Wajngarten, on the trip.
To Folha de S.Paulo, Bolsonaro said he will go to Milei’s inauguration, because “Lula isn’t going”. “If Lula went, it would be difficult. But since Lula isn’t going, he shouldn’t go, things become lighter,” he told the newspaper.
Bolsonaro received the invitation to attend the inauguration directly from the Argentine president, after making a call with Milei, on Monday (20), where he congratulated him on his victory in Argentina.
During the call, Bolsonaro told Milei that the newly elected’s work will go “outside Argentina. “You represent a lot to us Democrats, who are freedom lovers. You represent a lot to Brazil and rest assured that everything I can do for you I will be at your disposal”, said Bolsonaro.
